Hi and welcome mid-October. One more week of the month and then I’ll be thinking of all things festive for the holidays. I’m already starting to think about my Thanksgiving menu and all the things I’ll be cooking up for family. I will be bringing you a full menu and timeline in the days to come. 

This week, however, I have another cozy soup recipe that’s easy and perfect for a cool October night. It’s savory and hearty with Italian sausage and tortellini, and some kale for a healthy green addition. It’s a big hit in the McCullough house. 

And rounding out fall apple recipes, we have the gorgeous French apple tart from Ina Garten. It’s delicate with thinly sliced layered apples and buttery puff pastry. It makes a gorgeous dessert for entertaining and would be lovely for Thanksgiving.
