A major new international crossing between the United States and Canada is now open to traffic.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge connects Detroit with Windsor, Ontario, and is expected to strengthen trade, tourism and travel between the two countries. The multibillion-dollar project has been years in the making.
Canada officially celebrated the bridge's completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week. However, U.S. and Michigan officials were not invited after President Donald Trump announced new 50% tariffs on Canadian imports.
The bridge is named after Canadian hockey legend Gordie Howe, who starred for the NHL's Detroit Red Wings.
The Trump administration is reviewing how an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was vetted after a fatal shooting in Maine raised new questions about the agency's hiring and training practices.
Border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that the screening process for Army veteran and ICE officer David Brouillette is under internal review after relatives alleged he had a history of serious mental health struggles and violent behavior.
Homan said if those allegations are confirmed, the officer should not have passed the vetting process. He also said ICE has issued a new directive requiring at least one body-worn camera to be recording during every vehicle stop.
The fatal shooting of a Colombian national in Maine, along with another deadly ICE encounter in Houston, has prompted renewed scrutiny from lawmakers over immigration enforcement tactics and officer training as the administration continues its deportation campaign.

With a $264M Box Office opening, there is no doubt that "The Odyssey", Christopher Nolan's film adaptation of the ancient Greek Odysseus legend, is a major success. Despite high praise for the film's brilliant set design, actual ships, and practical effects, there are folks who can't get over the controversial "woke" casting of Elliot Page and Lupita Nyong'o. Before you see it for yourself, we'll tell you if it lives up to the hype.

A leftist mayor urges mass street protests against Netanyahu—pushing an already exhausted NYPD toward chaos—while rolling out a pied-à-terre tax to seize hundreds of millions from second-home owners and redirect it to non-workers, all delivered through shifting accents and performative theatrics that critics call pure communist scamming.
Sen. Tim Sheehy’s (MT-R) July 23, 2026, Senate floor speech opposing the latest Iran War Powers Resolution is a raw, veteran’s perspective grounded in personal loss and the Iranian regime’s long record of hostility.
In a shocking display of hypocrisy, a recent column by a prominent journalist has sparked outrage and debate in the world of sports. The article in question targets WNBA star Caitlyn Clark, accusing her of "flopping" and "endangering" her opponents. But is this criticism justified, or is it just a thinly veiled attempt to vilify a talented athlete?
This episode delves into the controversy surrounding Caitlyn Clark's playing style and the journalist's column, which has been widely criticized for its tone and content. The speaker discusses the implications of the article, including its potential to divide NBA fans by race and justify racism against whites. The conversation also touches on the importance of holding athletes to the same standards as the media and the public.
The speaker argues that Caitlyn Clark's playing style, while sometimes questionable, is not unique in the world of sports. Many athletes, including some of the greatest players of all time, have been accused of flopping or exaggerating contact. However, the speaker suggests that the journalist's column is not just about criticizing Clark's playing style, but about using her as a symbol of white privilege and racism.
The episode is a thought-provoking exploration of the complexities of sports, racism, and the media's role in shaping public opinion. Join the conversation and listen to the full episode to hear the speaker's take on this timely and contentious issue.

The Trump administration is backing a proposal that could lead to New York City's Penn Station being renamed as part of a sweeping redevelopment project.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is urging Congress to approve billions of dollars for the station's long-planned overhaul. During discussions surrounding the project, some administration officials have suggested the possibility of renaming the transit hub "Trump Station."
The proposal is tied to broader plans to modernize Penn Station, one of the nation's busiest transportation centers, with expanded passenger space, upgraded infrastructure and improved accessibility.
The naming idea has sparked immediate criticism from New York Democrats and transit advocates, who argue the station's historic name should remain unchanged and say the focus should be on completing long-overdue improvements.
No final decision has been made, and any name change would likely require additional approvals as redevelopment plans move forward.
